Ingredients
Scale
Steak Bites
- 1½ pound sirloin steak (cut into bite size pieces, or strip loin, tenderloin, strip steak or rib eye)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- ½ teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
Garlic Butter Sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter (unsalted)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon parsley (fresh, chopped)
Instructions
- Heat Olive Oil: Add the olive oil to a large skillet and heat it over high heat until the oil is hot and shimmering.
- Season and Sear Steak: Add the steak pieces to the hot skillet. Season them generously with salt and pepper. Cook for at least 2 minutes without stirring to get a good sear.
- Continue Cooking: Stir and continue cooking the steak bites for another 2 minutes until they are golden brown. If the skillet is crowded, cook the steak in batches to ensure proper searing.
- Remove Steak: Transfer the seared steak bites to a plate and set aside.
- Make Garlic Butter Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes.
- Sauté Garlic: Cook while stirring for about 30 seconds until the garlic becomes aromatic and starts to brown slightly.
- Combine and Garnish: Pour the garlic butter sauce over the steak bites in the plate or skillet, toss well to coat evenly, and garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Use a hot skillet to ensure you get a nice sear on the steak bites for maximum flavor.
- If your skillet is small, cook the steak in batches to avoid steaming instead of searing.
- Adjust the red pepper flakes quantity based on your preferred spice level.
- Serve immediately for the best texture, as the steak can toughen if left sitting too long.
- Substitute sirloin with other tender cuts like tenderloin or rib eye for different flavor and tenderness profiles.
