Ingredients
Scale
Sliders
- 1 (12-ounce) package Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls (such as King’s Hawaiian)
- 3 cups shredded chicken breast
- ¾ cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot or Frank's Buffalo)
- ¼ cup ranch dressing (Greek-yogurt based preferred)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided (provolone or Havarti can be used)
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Place a rack in the center of your oven and preheat to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Prepare Buns: Without separating the buns at their sides, slice the slider buns horizontally in half. Place the bottom half on the prepared baking sheet.
- Mix Chicken Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, buffalo hot sauce, ranch dressing, and garlic powder until well mixed.
- Assemble Sliders: Scatter a small handful of the shredded cheese over the bottom buns. Evenly distribute the buffalo chicken mixture on top, then sprinkle the remaining cheese over the chicken.
- Add Top Buns and Butter: Place the top half of the buns over the cheese and chicken. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with Italian seasoning and brush this mixture generously over the tops of the buns.
- Bake: Bake the assembled sliders in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops of the buns are golden brown.
- Serve: Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes, then carefully slice the sliders apart using a serrated knife. Serve warm.
Notes
- Use a serrated knife to neatly slice the sliders after baking without squashing them.
- Substitute ranch dressing with blue cheese dressing for an alternative flavor.
- For a spicier kick, add extra hot sauce to the chicken mixture.
- If preferred, provolone or Havarti cheese makes a great alternative to mozzarella.
- Hawaiian rolls provide a perfect balance of sweetness to the spicy buffalo chicken, but any soft slider buns can be used.
- Leftover sliders can be reheated in the oven wrapped in foil to maintain softness.
